I almost forgot how stellar this album is. I was perusing music as usual and came across this old gem. It's like falling in love all over again. Definitely worth a listen. Every song on here is great.

The Sugarcubes are by far the greatest band in the galaxy. I have to admit, I was originally introduced to them through Björk Guðmundsdóttir and hearing that she was in this band before her solo career. But as soon as I listened to them for the first time, my view on music was changed forever. Almost two years later, I’m still a diehard Sugarcubes fan. I’ve perpetually listened to them almost every day, and I’ve learned many of their songs on drums. bass and guitar. Sigtryggur Baldursson is one of the most brilliant and under-appreciated drummers who ever lived! Their music is incredible, ingenious, and individual. It fits perfectly into it’s era, but transcends it in a way that makes it just as great today as it was almost 30 years ago. Long live the Icecubes from Sugarland.

this is an album so popular, it is included in the book,"1001 albums you must hear before you die". but besides that, the album itself contains catchy lyrics, soothing guitar playing, and the vocals from the lovely Björk. to my opinion, a must have!😃

This album sounds completely fresh still, especially when compared to Björks more recent work. Her at her absolute greatest vocal ability. Some weird lyrics and trancy guitars make for music that sounds ahead of its time even today. I really don't mind Einar's voice, especially on Deus and Delicious Demon (even though Björk is far superior) All lovers of alt rock and 90s girls music will absolutely adore this album

Loved this back in the 80s, and it has held up over time (unlike much of the other music from that era). If you can only get one Sugarcubes album, this is the one to buy! Their other albums are okay, but this is far superior to any of their other work.

But the male vocals are really obnoxious, I can't stand them. They completely take away from Bjork's incredible performances... The guy sounds like he has no idea what he is doing.

The first time I saw the live video for Birthday was on MTV late, late at night and I was blown away. Bjork was beautiful, could SING, and the song was revolutionary (to my ears). This was the first album I ever bought just because I liked it, and not because of what anyone else thought. I still love to pull out this album every now and then. It's got some fun songs, aside from Birthday.

It's about time this showed up on iTunes. Blue eyed Pop is about the best opening licks I have ever heard in any song. It just gets you going. I used to play this album over and over in high school. Man I missed it.

Thanks ITunes for finally getting the Sugarcubes I have been waiting for a while. They opened for U2 on the Zoo TV tour in '92 and it was one of the best live shows I have ever seen! Most of the 90K + in the stadium had no clue who this crazy band was but and were relatively motionless as they started the set but by the end no one was sitting. I had this album on vinyl in '88 so thank you ITunes I can enjoy once again!!!!
