It sounds like they half-assed it. I've listened to their first studio album HUNDREDS of times, this is pretty bad comparatively. The ting tings are who they are because of their excellent use of percussion. In this performance there was nothing excellent about it.

I saw some of the previous reviews that said this was a bad download. Yet they didn't state why. First of all live performances aren't suppose to sound perfect unless you're used to seeing performers who lipsync their entire set. That's why it's LIVE and not playback. If that's the case don't waster your time buying this. Having said that I thought this download was great from top to bottom- the vocals are great, the energy's high, and they do justice to their songs. Preview before buying and then decide.
  • I got some advice for The Ting Tings...

If you cannot sing, and if your live performances are all going to sound like really, REALLY bad karaoke, do not go into the business of singing. Auto-tune can only help you for so long. I think I've finally found the thing deep, deep down inside me that's so annoyed by the Ting Tings-she can't sing, yet THEY'RE some of the people getting their stuff sold for $1.29 on iTunes. Don't get me wrong, I like the cleaned-up auto-tuned versions of the songs, but if you can't REALLY sing, you shouldn't get such a ridiculous amount per song.
  • great buy, great band

this is beautiful the lack of band members gives it that stripped down effect with energy of a live show
  • not like their other stuff but good

No, it does NOT sound like their unlive album, but it is still talented. not many artists sound the same live, including the ting tings. But the thing is that they have good live performing skills. If you listen to the songs a couple of times, you can also realize that its a different type of talent than what they what they do on their other albums. Besides, can any of you sing 9 songs straight in front of thousands of people? I think not.
  • It's punk rock

I really don't understand all the people complaining and saying that the studio album was so much better than these live cuts. It's punk rock. Punk has always been more about the fast downbeat than pop vocals. Look at the Ramones. Many would argue that they are one of the best bands of all time. I think very few would argue that Joey Ramone is one of the best vocalists of all time, though. I think if you focus on the vocals and admire how polished the studio album, you're really missing out on the essence of this music. There's no point to live cuts if they sound exactly like the studio album. Live cuts should be a little more raw and bare. Now I gave it 4 stars cause 5 to me is a perfect album and I don't think this is the perfect album, but it's pretty damn good.

People keep saying that the Ting Tings sound awful live and in my opinion they don't. They're so full of energy like when i recently saw them on Last Call with Carson Daly. I didn't know who they were and I fell in love with them immediatly
  • Very Good!

Individual taste, I think they sounded 'awesome' live. I like both studio & live equally, it's like you get two versions of the song.
