Alfred Reed Live!, Vol. 1 - Armenian Dances

It sounds like a clarinet player was having trouble on Praise Jerusalem! Several times, one could hear something that sounds wrong at the beginning. At first you tend to dismiss it until an outright squeak is heard. That's very embarrassing especially for a recording. I know it's a live recording, but I've heard plenty of live recordings that were executed without squeaks and obvious errors like that. Other than that, the songs are amazing. One truly knows what musicianship is when listening to Armenian Dances. You will definitely begin to appreciate articulation and phrasing when you listen to this performance, ESPECIALLY when compared to a high school band performance (like the many that are posted on YouTube.) There is no word to describe the Otonowa Wind Symphonica's performance. It is breathtaking. If you enjoy wind band music, this album is definitely worth a pick up.
