  • Okay, really?

I miss the old Static. What happened to the heavy tone of Otsego Amigo? Push It? Bled For Days? Anything But This? Wayne's voice is changing which is legitimate, but I'm no where near a fan of this new album. Stingwray is okay.

This album is definitely really good, only it's as if they don't try on anything but vocals. The instruments are almost too plain. I love Static-X, and the first album I heard awas Cannibal, which was a lot liket his album, and I loved it, but this one's too similar. Still very good though.

AWESOME. It's not the same as WDT, but it's just about as good. I love the beat from Hypure, Lunatic is really good, but the Punisher War Zone version has a better solo. This is Static-X at their best. If you haven't bought this album already, get it. IT'S AWESOME!!!!!!! I agree with Sir Doubting Thomas about the 1969 Camaro Z28, and I think thats the same car they use in the music video for Stingwray.
  • I have no more doubts about this disc, it rocks!

Having listened to this for more than a week now, I definitely have some standout tracks that I like. Lunatic is a great opener! Z28 is a pretty good one. It seems Wayne and I are partial to the 1969 Camaro Z28! Terminal is a good grinding Evil Disco tune. I like the extra electronic layers in there, especially with the bass. Hypure isn't really a favorite, but it's not bad. The guitar solo on this one, like many on the disc, are much better than I"m used to for Static X. Lots of tasty electronica to fill it up. Like I said, not bad, not bad at all. Tera-Fied I have to assume that Wayne wrote partially to fit his wife's name into a tune (Tera). I do like the guitar tones and electronic features of the song. Not a fast tune at all, but they all don't have to be. Stingray is a great tune, which is why they probably chose to select it as the first single. You Am I is one of my favorites, I think it just rocks. Isolaytore is another pretty good one, once it kicks in. Nocturnally is alright, the solo is one to the highlights, I think. Skinned is alright, another one that the solo is the highlight. Grind 2 Halt is a slow chuggin rocker. Cool guitar tones throughout. Another good solo Extra Songs: . .My disc includes a tune after Grind 2 Halt called W.F.O. is pretty good. One of those driving songs. Nice backing vocals along with the driving guitar and bass lines. Looks That Kill (Motley Crue cover) I have no idea why they chose to cover this song. Don't get me wrong, I liked . .Crue in their hayday, but I think Static X could have blown Red Hot out of this world! . .Included with my disc was a card that contained a code. Log on to the Static X site, enter the code and get another . .song. (Really good way to drive traffic to the website, I'll admit) However the song was Poison's Talk Dirty To Me. No comment. . .And now here on iTunes I see, and can hear a 30 second clip of, Whitesnake's In The Still Of The Night. Again no comment. Overall Cult Of Static is a good one, and luckily for me the tour will be swinging through my hometown, so I'll go see it, if nothing else to see Nick play all of those complicated drum fills (Wow he's good, really good). If you're a Static X fan, you should get this one too.
  • Too much hype

Personally, I am a big Static-X fan but i think too much hype built up for this album that when it actually realeased some were dissapointed. I feel that most songs on the album kinda blend too simliarly. It's like one continuous song. :( I know Static could do much better

It's a good CD, all of Static X is good, BUT don't get this version from itunes, get the bonus track version. This version is edited, so unless you like to hear spaces when your listing to a good rock song, spend the extra 2 bucks and get the one with the bonus track. Now I wasted 5 bucks to get the non edited songs.

nothing really stands out here. static-x is my favorite band but this album just seems kind of rushed. excellent vocals, but a slow tempo really takes away from the sound. this is my least favorite static-x album, but it's still a decent one.

Static-x is such a good metal band and they know how to rock. Go away Nickelback and you soft rock pillow bitters. I'll put my horns in you face.
