The reviewer who did the synopsis on this album got it wrong. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE was Klymaxx's FIRST album. Very few copies bearing the RCA-distributed Solar were pressed out before Solar jumped to Elektra, where this one had a full release. Their last album for Solar was GIRLS WILL BE GIRLS. But still, this is a great find.

I remembber when they first came out. First all girl band that played their own instruments!

If you've ever heard the french house track "Grandlife" by We in Music then you'll recognize "I Wish You Would". Classic.
  • An example of R&B/Funk at it's best....

I've always thought this was Klymaxx's best album. It had that early 80's 'organic' Solar Records sound that was hot, and the vocal and musical arrangements are top-notch. This album wasn't a commercial smash, but musically, I think it and "Girls Will Be Girls" are both far superior to their later recordings on MCA.

Klymaxx released 2 albums on the same year, their debut album should be released in 1980 instead of 1981 (just to avoid any confusion what so ever). Anywhoo, this album is pretty good, not bad at all.
