This is a gem. I don't know who wrote the Apple review - but, what??? This is a Fred Carter, Jr. album all the way. Everything John and Fred did together was just genius. Waddy Wachtel? What?! Are you thinking of the Warner Bros. albums with Russ and Lee Sklar? Just throwing Waddy in for fun? FRED CARTER JR. produced this. Nick Venet produced the classic California Bloodlines, the classic Phoenix Concerts (feat. Jim Godron on drums) and the severely disappointing, flabby, enervated Wingless Angels.

This is my favorite John Stewart Album.Besides great tunes it's very well produced and John is in fine voice. Some of the lyrics on Armstrong are a little on the PC corny side but it's a nice tune and it was probably what he strongly felt at that time. It didn't take long to wear out this record! His best album and one of this country's greatest albums was California Bloodlines. I hope to see it available on iTunes also.

I have been a John Stewart fan since 1974. I have nearly a complete collection of John's work. I have seen him in concert a number of times. This is still my favorite album. I never tire listening to it. RIP John. You are missed.

If I could only own one album, this would be it. Every song is terrific. Although I have heard all of these songs hundreds of times, I look forward to the next time one comes up on my iPod.
