It's nice to hear true Texas country when everyone seems to be going Nashville these days. Charlie hits another homerun with Beautiful Day. Down Again and Reconsider are my two favorites, but i honestly like all ten songs. He really nailed it. Now i just wish he would come to Florida for some shows....

Always loved this guy. A straight-up guy's guy. The songs simple, direct, universal. He still hasn't topped the life of the party album, but this is pretty damn good. He's a great writer, but also has the good taste to pick the right songs from other people (Gattis). The first 5 songs make it worth the while. Down again, Nothin better, and Reconsider each have a distinct tone that once they hit me I couldn't help playing them over and over ad nauseum...according to my itunes counter about 35 times each in 2 weeks!
  • Great Music!

Beautiful Day was written during divorce from Emily (i.e., Dixie Chicks) and you can tell. Styles of songs definitely all over the place: Classic Charlie - Beautiful Day, Down Again, Reconsider Cajun/Louisana Style - If the Rain Don't Stop, Middle of the Night Pat Green Style - Feelin' Good Classic 60's & 70's Sounding - Yellow Blues Springstine Style - Racing in the Street Album tracks/fillers - Nothin Better to Do, She's so Fine After listening to the album several times, the songs in your head aren't necessarily the songs indicated by the ratings. Overall, a good balance of music. Very entertaining. Great sequence on album. Texas (redroad) music at it's finest. Welcome back Charlie! Written on flight from Detroit, MI to Salt Lake City, UT in Delta 1st class - hardly a place you would expect to find Charlie!
  • Best sound/production I have heard in a while!

Charlie delivers again with 10 solid songs and one of the best sounding albums I have heard in a long while. Several cuts from songwriter Keith Gattis on this album (just like Good Times) and a pretty good cover of Springsteens "Racing In The Streets". Worth the money for sure!

It's not as popular yet, but it's getting play at KGSR and for good reason. Check it out.

I'm telling you, if you don't find something, if not everything about this album that intrigues you, you're not Texan. The best texas country album in a looooong time from the best Texas country singer/writer out there. Charlie Robison stuck to the Texas country roots after 5 years of absence, gotta love that. Don't usually write reviews, but this one is well worth it.

Great Album, Great followup to Good Times. It truely reflects the style of a Singer/Songwriter, taking from life and laying down in words and rhythm.
  • Why wasn't this featured?

Great album, thanks Charlie ... I don't see why this album hasn't been featured on the itunes main page. It doesn't get any better than Charlie Robison for gritty soulful Texas country music.
