One of the classic and certainly overlooked OG albums in the game. Droppin panties like Jimbrowski 1987.

One of my favorite albums of all-time! No songs to skip, grooves hypnotizing and rhymes solid. Friend went to NYC and heard about The JBs and we couldn't wait for the album to drop. If you want something with a positive message that has stood the test of time then get this album.

No doubt!!
The golden age of Hip-Hop indeed! The JB's (with some PR help from 98.7 kiss & DJ Red Alert) gave birth to all the others! The Tribe, Leaders of the new school, etc... I was a young one running around the halls of murry bergtraum HS and used to listen to Q-tip freestyle in the lunchroom..

Anyone who claims to be a hip hop head MUST have this in their collection. Always too ahaed of their time, the JB's never got the recognition that Tribe and De La (or eveb Black Sheep) did, even theough they were really the founders of the Native Toungues Tribe. Their label just never new how to market them. My faves are "Black Is Black", "On the Run", & "Because I Got it Like That". Of course, there's also "What's Going On", "I'm Gonna Do You", & the title track. It shouldn't be said that the album ends on "some throwaways", because "The Promo" (along with "Black Is Black") is the first appearance of Q-Tip. Own this right away!
