Other than Interpol's debut album, probably the best indie album to come out in the past 10 years!! From the beginning riff of Lola Stars and Stripes, each song morphs into absolute beauty. I love how there's an atmospheric sound to most songs but yet they are still catchy. My favs are "Gender Bombs, Changes Are No Good, Of Montreal, Ready For It and Fevered".

This album is the anthem of my introduction to music. It'll never be forgotten. Rest in peace Stills.

I'm sure I speak for many when I say that this album was a FIXTURE in my bulky iPod and car CD player between 2003-2005. For those that are new to the Stills, this is the place to start. 'Lola Stars and Strips' is surely one of my favorite songs of the past decade, as it personally captured the estrangement I felt from American society during some very challenging times. The energy from that song pulses through the rest of this album and personal highlights include 'Love and Death', 'Allison Krausse', 'Animals and Insects', and 'Yesterday Never Tomorrows'. Guitarist Greg Paquette is the true catalyst for this record, unfortunately he left the band in 2005. I'm of the opinion that the Stills subsequent records have come up short as a result of the lineup from this album not being in place.

Just heard, blown away, completely blown away. To me they sound original, complex yet not to high on themselves, just perfect. It is a pusher album pushing me to want to make music. As soon as I heard them on the radio I knew I was going to research them & get the albums. They sort of shocked me when I heard them like an awakening.

LWBYH is an amazingly complete album. At no point does a song feel unnecessary or out of place. While there are no real stand-out tracks individually, the album as a whole stands out remarkably. A classy album

99% of the songs on this album have the same identical beat, they are boring and really nothing to differenciate them from any other Garage band type.....I believe some talent lies within but when and how it will appear is yet to be seen. Couldn't find one song that was worth the .99 cents....Great album cover though....Sorry Gents....

These songs have held up remarkably well on their own terms and I find myself still listening to this album still to this day. It's no Turn on the Bright Lights... but The Stills hit something harder and more real. I'd buy it all over again if I didn't already own it.
  • One of the best albums I have ever hear .....seriously

From start to finish this album is perfect. Every song is worthy of being a "single" and it is a must have for any indie, alternative, or rock fan. 4 years later in 2008 i am still listening to this cd as if i just bought it.
