Seriously - a voice like this and we have to listen to synthy horribleness? Cheap record companies.

With a "sand paper" voice like Dr.John ( Mac Rebennack , or Jack Sheldon, and arrangments that would please any Johnny Mandel nut. This is sadly trapped in a genre that is seen fit only for one station on xm/SIRIUS and deserves recognition for being more than a "Father of the Bride" soundtrack..because it is neither. It is jazzy, soft to the ear, fun to listen to disc without needing a skip button. From start to finish is is polished superbly recorded which leaves the listener with one question - who is this guy? A tremendous writer, arranger and musician is he. He worked with everyone from Dionne Warwick and Burt Bacharach, Smokie Robinson and Chris Botti as writer or arranger. He is was married to the actress Stephanie Tyrell and, at her sad early loss to colon cancer, he disappeared for some time. A man who the Sinatra family chose to help with the "Chairman's" induction to the Hollywood Bowl HOF. He is loved by the music world and has been around for decades. This is a superb collection of songs that entertain and sooth. Bet you cannot name your favorite selection after two or three listens all the way through...you are not alone!
