I saw Michael Trent & Cary Ann Hearst open (as Shovels and Rope) for Butch Walker at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. They sang "The Winner" and I became a fan. Buy this album, and anything by The Films, and anything by Butch Walker. Your ears and your soul will thank you!

This album is a classic example of the fruition of recent Americana revitalization emerging once again with a southern rock undertone that is often overlooked in music today. Borrowing from blues, rock n roll, country and a clever lyricist this album is sure to keep your foot on the gas pedal or your hand on a whiskey barrel (hopefully not both at the same time). The title track shines but don't overlook the horns on -All or Nuthin'-, blasting a day of the dead reminiscent tone with great backup vocals. Enjoy*
