I still maintain that the first half of "Die Another Day" is one of the best Bond movies ever. Unfortunately, it then gives way to a mediocre video game. David Arnold's score is more consistent, but unlike his stellar work for "Tomorrow Never Dies," this one doesn't really hold up so well as a soundtrack album away from the context of the film. Madonna's title track is polarizing; it was a hit on the charts, but a lot of fans hated it. You probably already know how you feel about it. Paul Oakenfold's take on the "James Bond Theme" is pretty solid, but there have been so many over the years it's hard to become too excited about another version. The gem in the album is "Welcome to Cuba," which I would wholeheartedly advise even non-fans splurge and add to their libraries. It's a pretty brief explosion of Latin-driven fun that would be enjoyable even outside the context of being from a Bond soundtrack.

While the film might have not been the best, David Arnolds' score is fantastic. It packs a punch while yet keeping a sincere element to it, that most other action films dont pay attention to. Overall, this along with the Casino Royale soundtrack are his best.
