I tried really hard to like this one but I found it very difficult. Maybe cause the first one is so good. I judge this one harshly. I suggest buying his first if your new to Sundowner.

This release has made my month. I am a huge fan of Chris and the Lawrence Arms so this purchase was an easy one. His songs just seem to make you forget about anything else that is going on. Will be listening to this for a long time. A must have!
  • Worth the wait.

Waited for this for a long time. Chris's songs just plain rule. He brings the thunder and jams out on every song. Support him and buy this record 6 times ha.

Thought the album was great. Would have loved to see some Lawrence Arms songs on there but it's also great that the album is 100% original. So far my reccommended tracks are: In The Flicker All Prologue Mouth Of A Tiger Jewel Of The Midwest

sure, this album isn't a rough departure from his first CD, but it's just plain good. the lack of any percussion might be a turnoff to some, but even with that factor, you still might find yourself listening to the entire CD the whole way through without noticing. I would say his vocals have gotten much more dynamic from his first release 4152 (or some other ordering of those numbers haha) and you can see more of the country that's influenced him. there's also a bit more dynamics with backing guitar. either way, it's a great album. like the guy below me said, if you're a fan of The Lawrence Arms and especially if you were a fan of Chris' first solo effort, buying this is a no-brainer.
  • Chris does it again.

This album is chris at his finest. every song just makes you wanna stop what your doing and listen to his songs. anyone who is a fan of acoustic music, Larry arms, The falcon. or Chris last album should purchase this without second thought.
