The first song doesnt even compare to the rest of the album, and its an AWESOME song. As soon as palm road started i pooped my pants and wasn't ready for the next songs.

Wolf Parade started out with one of the best indie rock albums in my opinion, "Apologies to the Queen Mary". From there they established a sound of crunchy guitars accomponied by synthesizers and keyboards. This album holds strong to that sound. This album is definitely recomended to any fans of the band. Fans of Arcade Fire should also give this album a listen. Notebable Tracks: Cloud Shadow on the Mountain - The opener track of this album provides a new and trippy kind of feel to the band. There are also touches of crunchy punk. A newish style that produces a great album opener. What Did my Lover Say? - Classic Wolf Parade sound leading to a strong overall song. Ghost Pressure - My favorite song off of the album. An up-tempo pop feel with dark, heavy chords thrown in to the mix. Oh You, Old Thing- There is nothing that stands out much with this song. It has a catchy melody and follows the overall sound of the album. This album is a great album to listen to in its entirety. I suggest purchasing a physical copy of the CD, purchasing the whole album off of Itunes, or like me, purchase a copy of the album on Vinyl. They do a great job with making high-quality vinyl these days so I strongly reccomend trying out vinyl.
  • Five, because the scale doesn't go to Ten.

By I'll listen to anything, almost
Easily one of the best albums of the Year. After Handsome Furs' Face Control album and Mt. Zoomer.... you knew something this epic was coming. Like a previous commenter stated... This is what Rock and Roll should sound like right now. This group of artists are all maturing well as a whole, the side projects as well as this band are only getting better and better. It's ridiculous that this band gets so little attention.

Has everything I would expect from an already well established band. In my opinion it's their best yet.

If you love 80s New Wave with a touch of heavy guitar you will LOVE Expo 86 as much as I do. Just bought this today. Merry Christmas to me.

A band from Montreal, a label from Seattle.. What more do you want? Probably a bit safer than the last disc, but just as fun. Solid album for a first timer to the band, highly recommended.

What I love about the record is there is not a boring moment at all, and start to finish every song is good. To me it reminds me of Modest Mouse, with a little Joy Division, and definitely David Bowie. (in a good way)...Ok nuff said buy this, support there art.
