  • Great Christian Parodies

I am a fan of hard rock music, but find that the content of the secular stuff is depressing and angst-ridden. Apologetix picked some good songs to parody on this record, and reproduce them with amusing but relevant Christian content. I especially liked the diversity of hard rock songs - the parodies of "Panama" and "Nookie" come to mind - that encompass music from the '80s through the '00s.

  • Heavy Metal Goes Biblical

I'm not the fan of Heavy Metal and I thought this CD would be complete screaming, but it turns out it's mostly Hard Rock; which I can tolerate. These guys did such a great job on this CD I love all of the songs except for Downer of a Sister, but all the others are great to listen to if you are looking for a great clean and Biblical meaning to the songs. Back Intact is by far their best AC/DC parody and it is amazing that they sound exactally like each song and with Hard Rock/Metal it would be pretty hard to sound like each band. My most favorite song on this one would have to be Enter Samson. Everytime I hear it, it reminds me of the times I've seen them do it live and I laugh because I imagine in my head J. acting out the song as Samson.

ApologetiX is back and stronger then ever! If you like your Christian music hard-boiled, then this is the CD for you! ApologetiX Classics: Heavy features biblical parodies of 20 hard rock and heavy metal hits including their signature songs, "Enter Samson" and "Smooth Grandmama." This is simply one of the best ApologetiX compilations you can purchase, and it is one of the greatest examples of their musical talent and J.'s lyrical and vocal abilities. Who would have thought that you could turn "Welcome to the Jungle" into an Old-Testament theology lesson?

A retrospective of the ''heavier'' parodies of the band, ''ApologetiX Classics: Heavy'' cointains arguably some of the best work the band has done. From System of A Down to Ozzy, AC/DC to Nickelback & Judas Priest to G&R, this compilation is a must have for any headbanger.
