Coast of Carolina is probably the best song in my opinion, but I love all of the others too. The album is definitely worth buying.

i went to the Death Cab for Cutie concert this past Friday, and they were the opening band. Michael Benjamin Lerner was joined by Cody (electric guitar) and Jason (bass guitar) on tour. and... i immediately fell in love with them. it was catchy and infectious and had everyone smiling. they band members were witty and happy to be playing for people, which made people happy to listen to them! there was no production- just pure, awesome music. i personally love Jason Narducy. (: but get the album!! you won't be diappointed. (:

This is lacking the general upbeat of works this band has done former. There is no teeth rotting cute lyrics in this album, but I like it just the same.
  • Perfect blend of 80's pop and present day hipster

I bought this album after getting Parallel Seismic Conspiracies for a $1 one day on a whim. I am glad I gambled on the first purchase because this album is even better. If you like upbeat pop styled songs that are anything but the norm, buy this album.

I usually know an album is good if Pitchfork says the opposite of almost every other reviewer. I have been waiting for this CD to come out for months. I've seen Telekinesis in Los Angeles on numerous occasions and they are great live. How in the bleep can you drum and sing so well at the same time dude? This album is solid all the way through, from the great drumming of Lerner to the snappy and daring production skills of Chris Walla. Sometimes I wish the songs were longer, but in a way the brevity of the tunes keeps me coming back for more. Lerner's voice sounds more confident compared to his first release. I always love an artist who can write about dark situations but still make the song sound happy. Maxwell's Silver Hammer comes to mind. Speaking of Paul McCartney and the Beatles, I heard NPR compare Mr. Lerner's writing to a young Macca. I would take that as the ultimate compliment sir. I give credit to anyone who can play an instrument, make a record and play it live. This is some really great music from an up and coming artist. Congratulations Telekinesis.
