  • Words for the wise!!

When I first heard the new tracks from Shei it blew me back because I was used to her singing "Jesus”. But because I have come to respect her previous works, I humbled myself and listened. I was blessed. I have been married for 13 years and I am just understanding why my wife does things that sometimes don’t just make sense. Shei’s “Emotional” helped me understand better why the bible says my wife is the “weaker Vessel” (1 Peter 3:7). Those of you who are vindictive of Shei for this new work do not understand that God is too big to be boxed into any stereotype. I am sure some of you complaining would wish the book of Songs of Solomon were never in the Bible for its highly “emotional” contents. But I have good news for you; God is interested in our “emotional” life just as He is interested in our paying our daily bills here on this planet and also our going to heaven. Love you Shei!

i have bought her albums and this is cool dont see anything wrong with it ,now i have to be real she definately needs to have some songs on the album that do lift up jesus name and she usually does but they need to be some of her main songs not side songs with sub par beats God deserves the best songs and best tracks not the weaker ones.I do beleive that sometimes as gospel artist we think we cant just come out with a strait jammin jesus song because unsaved people will be uncomfatable with it but kirk franklin's "stomp" and mary mary' s "God in me" ought to show us that the world dont mind you gettin strait to the point and speaking about the lord instead of beating around the bush.people are lookin for God out here and want to find God in the music they listen to .I let dudes and girls from the hood hear gospel rap etc all the time and they are feelin our music stronger than the secular artist as long as its quality music.they arent realy feelin secular music like we think, thats just all they believe is availible.Shei is tight but I have to be real I hope the album has some bangin songs that glorify God you dont have to say Jesus on every song some christians are so religious when they think that way but if you put out a album with very little jesus or hes on all the weaker tracks then I got a problem with that! At the end of the day she has to do what she has to do I cant tell her what to do but it would hurt me big time if she moves more to a secular feel in her lyrics and water down the gospel side she has because this girl is one of my favorite artist she is a rare find and we need her to rep the kingdom conforming to a RIhanna or Alcia Keys is a step down for her because she has the word and annointing in her to draw young girls to christ not just make good music!

I have all of Shei's Atkins albums, and I'm not shocked about how she did this song. I LIKED IT! Good thought provoking music has always been about content....This song has real true to life content, relevant to churched & unchurched. It's some emotional ladies out there, that can relate. Just because you don't hear the name of Jesus in the song, doesn't mean themes of love, grace, and sacrifice aren't present....Good Job Shei!
