The new vocalist can sing, so i'll give him that. His rendition of the new songs don't sound that bad at all. But what i find aweful, and is why i graded this really low, is that the original vocalist's band had the new guy sing there old songs, WITH a new style, then sell it off as LONESTAR. One reviewer said that they should just change the name.....Sadly, i think he's completely right. The talent and emotion that once made this band famous is now gone and the remaining members should have NEVER tried to have replaced it. . . . . Again...new guy can sing...but is this Lonestar......NOPE!!!! . . . .so stop telling me it is, ok?!?!?

I love the original group, but I am really excited to hear Cody's voice sing these songs. There can be more than one "BEST" version of a song, just done differently, and done well. Lonestar is one of my favorite groups, and I know they will stick to their roots and keep singing the type of music that made them what they are, but it will be fun to see what sort of influence a new member brings to the group. Watching them perform, you see that they click. It is a good fit!

This is just wrong! Sounds like an American Idol singer who's been voted off the show.No band can ever replace the lead singer.Change the name of this band, cause it is not Lonestar.By the way, this guy cannot sing.I hear better singers at church every Sunday.
  • Bad idea!

C'mon Lonestar! These songs were meant for Richie McDonald to sing and Richie alone. If this new guy wants to make a name for himself and help the band get back into the spotlight, come up with some new music. Don't try to fix a song that wasn't broken in the first place. Amazed is one of my favorite songs and it was just ruined because you changed what shouldn't have been changed. Without Richie there, I don't think Lonestar will ever amount to anything ever again.

The new lead singer is actually very good. But there is no Lonestar without Richie McDonald. Hardest person to replace in band the lead singer. No offense boys, its time to hang it up. Whoever the new lead singer is though keep going on with music cuz your good. Your just not Richie McDonald and you shouldn't try to replace him.
  • Not Good.

You don't take songs that were perfect the way they already were and change them up like this. Whatever the reasons for the original singer's departure was, I don't care. This album says "we want to take songs you love and turn them into something you'll hate". This is just a bad idea and the songs sound horrible with the new singer. Sorry Lonestar, I won't listen to anything that doesn't have the original singer
  • C'monnn guys

Lonestar is and always was a band, originally with John Rich and Richie MacDonald. At some point, John Rich left, and they hit the stratosphere with Amazed and Richie was "ingrained" as the voice of Lonestar. That's understandable. However, he chose to the leave the band to focus on a solo (and Christian music I think) career. The band found a new singer and is pushing forward. Many people are expecting to see/hear Richie and so they put this EP together to introduce "the new guy" and let people know he can handle the songs. If your opinion of these songs is measured solely against Richie's and John's versions, you will no doubt come up feelng short changed - but if you stack them up as songs on their own, and ignore "who" is doing them I think you'll find he does an admirable job. This is *not* John Corabi trying to cover Vince Neil after all.
