REALLY good album. Lots of great material on here. I especially like "Trouble" and "Time Bomb". My only issue is with the mastering. The entire mix seems to be set so far back. It's noticeably thinner than other albums. It's a shame because the material here is excellent. You really have to jack the volume to feel it and, even then, the music just feels thin. It's unlike any other 311 album ... and a little disappointing to me. Clearly this was a fluke b/c Stereolithic and Archive are both fine.

After some meandering, 311 have *almost* recaptured what made them so great. This is the first album where they don't sound bored. I'm rating this high because I want old school fans like me that have been on the fence to give this one a chance. Tim's guitar tones are ridiculous, there is (finally) more attention given to harmonies, both vocally and musically, and this feels fresh again. Sunset in July feels like the first *real* return to form these guys have had in maybe 10 years. Please don't give up on these guys....I almost had until I heard this.
