Peter Hook clearly has he knack for playing Joy Division songs. While his New Order set list is excellent, the older sound of Joy Division comes shining through with a new upbeat tempo. Not to be missed!

I couldn't get past "disorder" on this album because whoever is singing just can't really impersonate Ian Curtis' voice right even though he's trying. I think they should just get a better singer and I mean that with no disrespect. That being said, I find it inappropriate that they are playing JD songs without Bernard and Stephen even though a third of the rights are Peters. I can only give 4 stars because I like Peter Hook.

If he ever needed a better singer for this, I know of an excellent one…his name is Julian Plenti.

i was appalled when i saw this, but pleasantly surprised at how authentic it actually sounds. hook has every right to joy division's material, and does it well but still not as good as if new order were to take on this project. i would much rather see bernard, stephen, gillian and peter cover the old stuff, and that would be 5 stars. as it is, it's still a fitting tribute to one of the greatest, most influential, and devastating bands ever to exist. on the other hand, the newer album featuring rowetta (1102/2011) is just awful. hook's vocals on this live set are not bad at all, rowetta's vocals are not a good fit for the music whatsoever. do a little comparison, i think most longtime joy division fans would agree that hook does a much better job.

Just saw Peter Hook & the Light in Chicago for a fantastic show! This album gives me that great energy "Hooky" provided on stage with his band. Given he is being a bit nostalgic, I hope for a Monaco album some day with a tour. Anyway, enjoy and thanks Mr. Hook for all the smashing tunes.....
