She plays better when she's not wearing anything. St John is seen running in a dress of seaweed that splashed up on her previous Bach album. Her intonation is suspect, her vibrado is out of control, and her phrasing is too strange to discribe. I had high hopes for this release, but I just can't get behind it. Langlement makes the best of the situation, trying to lend support, but is obviously at a loss as to how to follow this gal. Best just to skip over this one and pray that she'll get back in top form. -Bz

An elegant and sophisticated interpretation of such classics! Ms. St. John is a wonderful musician with an incomparable mastery of the violin! I highly recommend this album, without doubt, a five-star!

This is such a great recording. It's so nice to hear these familiar pieces in a new setting. St John is brilliant and thoughtful as always. Langlamet is unbelievable. Her articulation is so wonderful here - even in fast passages, you can hear every note clearly, even in the low registers. A truly remarkable recording. HIGHLY recommended.
- BACH WOULD APPROVE!

Experimental, as Bach would have liked it. What an interesting and beautiful sound and concept. Well executed, played, and the instruments are wonderfully blended. A delight to listen to. Lara St. John does it again. This is one of her best albums yet. She has grown a lot, and I believe we can only expect more and even better from her.
