This is worth every penny. I love the anime and the musci keeps me connected to it. The epsiodes were amazing (to me) and i hope someday maybe they make a second series of the original showing what happened after.

There is something really special about the songs on the Last Exile scores. They draw you into the depth of the show, especially the song titled “Skywriting.” IT is just one of those songs that grows on you over time and gives you the feeling of the world that the anime is in: a world in which you are soaring through the skies above the clouds. You literally feel as if you are in that world and in the skies: the thrill and adventure of flying. Some reviewers of this first ost have commented that it is the soundtrack to the series, as opposed to the second one. Well, I agree on one part: I believe that it is a more structured soundtrack as opposed to the second one. The second ost seems to center more around the entirety of the show rather then a certain part of the show. I dont mean that in a way that takes away from the overall excellence of the soundtracks, its just that one does one thing and the other does another thing. One thing that is certain is the emotional impact that both soundtracks have on the listener. I have noticed a difference in how anime soundtracks are structured. Rather then focus on one central theme and draw it out, in often times tired out or stretched manner, what anime in general and specifically Last Exile does is that it creates so many themes for so many different scenarios and emotions. There is just so much creativity in it as opposed to sticking to one single theme and drawing it out. Last Exile and Escaflowne did this quality masterfully.

Over all the anime is well done and great story. It would be nothing without the unique music composed for the feature. I just love the music and it helps me while working on unique pieces when i paint or draw.
