I'm a lifelong fan of Liza's and I've most if not all of her classic records. I was so thrilled upon learning that this collection was released. Some of the songs featured I've never heard before written by Kander and Ebb for a show staged by Fosse sung by Liza! What's not to like? The same team created 'Liza with a Z'. Though it's hard to top that Emmy winning show, this recording bares an artist at the peak of her career. It's an eclectic set and there's plenty to enjoy. If you're a Liza fan, you won't be disappointed, newbies? Not sure if you'll be converted or not but give it a try.

I'm one of the lucky few who has the L.P. of the original release. So this is not a new recording, but a treasured classic. Her voice at this time in her career never sounded more melifuious, it moves along her charts and the musicians as only she could at the time. As much as I love "Liza With A Z"' this is the show that should have been the basis for the T.V. special that helped her on her way to the stardom she so rightly deserved. Gotta love me some Liza! Oh a special highlight is that old chestnut, "Shine On Harvest Moon", and the 3 unreleased tracks at the CD.
