Very solid band out of Louisiana! I'm more of a fan of their first two albums, as they get a little too popish for my tastes by the third cd (though it was far from a flop!). The harmony between band members is supurb, and their songs can range from a slower, more accoustic sound to a very fast paced tempo with vocals to match (not to mention the guitars!) and a decent bit of distortion. They do this all, really without being heavy at all! This is a great happy medium they find themselves in, because whether you love to rock out and mosh or just bob your head and tap your foot, you can really do it all with these guys. While they did get fairly popish on the third album, they generally manage to blend it into their music so that you get a unique combination of racing guitars and something that suits all audiences. Even their soft stuff never sounds gay, but just reveals their wide range of talents. These guys were going to blow up before they parted ways, and if you give it just a track or two, you'll see why!! Songs to check out: Why Things Burn, In the Wake of the Muse, Room With One Wall <-- some of their best!!
