Heard her sing this on Daryl's House-it was magical and the arrangement was so sweet. Her voicing is wonderful. I hope she does more covers and particularly Burt Bacharach covers. She has the most amazing story and gift.

In order to get an appreciation of this song you need to watch Rumer and Daryl Hall sing this on Daryl's House. It is a very nice performance by both.

Rumer is my new favorite artist. It might help those negative reviewers to know that she teamed up with Daryl Hall on a six-song set. This is one of the songs from that project which aired in August on a show called LIve From Daryl's House. I have loved everything she's done so far.
  • I get lost in this song...

Rumer has become my favorite singer of all time. She knows exactly how to interpret each song and make it UNIQUE! If I want to hear Hall and Oates, I will buy H and O ...but I want to get lost in her beautiful melodic voice with a glass of wine and dream.....I love you Rumer.. Your talent is truly a blessing!!!! to you and all of us..I just bought the deluxe version of her latest album "Boys Don't Cry" and it's AMAZING!!! Buy it!!!

Big Sir does a much better version other than the original of course.

This chick can't sing good enough to try this song. She has a nice voice tone but her singing ability is amateur. I think I'll go buy Sarah Smile by Hall & Oats now. Haven't owned it since the 80's. But thanks for the reminder Rumer.
  • Not so good

Though her voice is pleasant, no one can compare to the original version by Hall and oates. Jimmy Wayne's version would be the closest to the original and he knew enough to as Hall and Oates to sing background on the song. Hands down Hall and Oates is the best however and Sara Smile is a classic that should not be attempted by just anyone. Jimmy Wayne put a bit of a country spin on it and it's good but still not like that 1976 Hall and Oates original which I remmebr when it came out!!
  • Yes, it is a new arrangement but . . .

Well. Umm. OK. From just the preview, you can tell this is a new arrangement of an old favorite. No doubt the post-contemporary vibe matches her style. Very well done cover of an old favorite. Unfortunately, the ORIGINAL is just too iconic to be replaced by this version. Plus, the original is just too darn great! :-)

I don't care what you say about the song...... her voice is soft, mellow and easy going! I want to hear more!

Rumer gives a Hall & Oates classic track a mellow twist that will leave a smile on your face. Good job Rumer!
