I never heard of her, but saw her on "Live from Daryls House" She had me hooked from the first note that came out of her mouth. What a great voice and seems to also be a really cool person from the interview parts. I give her and the CD a Big Thumbs up! Hope She records a couple of the songs she did on that show that are not on her albums. Her and Daryl are supposed to do something together. I hope so!!

Karen Carpenter has returned. Rumer's voice is so similar that she could be channeling the past. Love everything on this album!

Recently discovered Rumer on a Live at Daryll's House website. She has a beautiful smooth as glass voice and I love her 70's pop renditions of Sara Smile, Be Nice to Me, and The Same Old Tears On a New Background. I am a new fan for life.
  • Rumer fled the 70's

Perry Como and Karen Carpenter played, 'Hide the Oboe' and Rumer was the fruit of this, their creepy Coalescing. She then fled the 1970's on a rocket ship armed only with a Pet Rock, a Light-Bright and a Chicago's greatest hits LP on Eight Track. (You can't leave the 70's without one of those) Most of the jesting aside, this girl sings and it makes me want to feed the homeless and swill Tang and eat potted meat sandwiches and flee from invisible monsters and go see Star Wars at Turland Mall and be afraid of the dark and find a T.V. that has fifty-six channels, of which, fifty-two are snow. She croons and my Man-Card melts like a Push-Pop on a 1975 sidewalk. Here's the scuttlebutt on a Kenner Toy, the gossip on a Triscuit: Rumer is where it's at!

I love Rumer and her gorgeous voice, but wasnt it a little soon to do an album of all covers? Her interpretations are good but it just leaves me feeling less than ok. I think this was a quick attempt for her label to put something out fast to make money to benefit off her sudden popularity. Its a shame, because a new artist has to be careful not to rush in between records, for they will sound rushed leaving no emotion or originality. I really think this is the result. Rumers first album was seductive, smooth, well crafted and emotional. Way too soon for someone of her caliber and ability to do measly cover songs.

Thank you Rumer for this gift because thats exactly what it is. i bought this album weeks ago through import cd's and had to get my mom a copy for her birthday. now I just purchased the digital album for my ipad and ipod. I love you Rumer your songs are treasures each and every interpretation is better than the previous. I loved Seasons of my Soul but I adore "Boys Don't Cry: and this boy is crying.......
