I play this album on guitar to relax. Acoustic or electric doesn't matter it sounds sweet and relaxes me.
  • One of the best albums of 1986

This album deserves a seat in the pantheon of Puppets, Peace Sells, and Reign. The person who wrote the review must be wet behind the ears because he doesn’t understand the genre so are they writing the review for something they don’t know what they are talking about other than a wiki link. To this day, this album still gets a play out of me every few months.

I've had this album since it first came out. Till this day I still listen to it. This is metal's equivalent to Dark Side of the Moon.

So today i heard,on one of the few times i listen to modern radio, the "Top 30 Top Metal Albums of All Time. And "Awaken the Guardian" was not on it. Silly list.

I first heard the song "Prelude To Ruin" on the original best of metal blade compilation (good luck finding a copy of that by the way, but it opens with that song). I consider this to be the bands best album although also love "Night on Brocken" as well. Although all the reviews already written are very positive I have to say that if you've never heard this album you definitely missed out. Not to late to check it out though, one of the most amazing albums you will ever hear. Unfortunately the bands last album with John Arch, I would pass on their later stuff.

In some ways I preferred The Spectre within but the tracks Valley of the Dolls, Fata Morgana,Guardian, and Exodus were my favorites. This for me makes a great metal album to listen along to rather than sing along too. No complaints here. If your just getting into Fates Warning this isn't a bad album to start with.

This is by far one of if not the best metal album of the 80's . The lyrics are magical the music will blow you away and no other band even comes close to it's originality . This band was so ahead of their time . From the first note u will begin a journey that after 50 sumthin minutes u will beg yourself to hit play all over again . Yes it's that good my friends .

This is the Album that got me into Heavy Metal. Every song is amazing. There is nothing else like it. Listeners that love the first Dream Theater Album should give this a listen.

One of the greatest albums that not many people know about. If you want to know what true metal sounds like, then buy this album.
