Pieces We Are draws on some amazing talent. I have so many good things to say about this EP, but most importantly, you need to hear it for yourself. This was definitely a good purchase! I especially love the song "I Will Go"

Downloaded this today, listened to it about 5 times at work. Amazing! Being a classically trained trumpet player I really enjoy the orchestral arrangements and Kris writes/sings wonderfully. Doe Bay, Ho Hey!
  • Forget genre, this is just good music.

I am stopping by from Andria Lindquist's blog. :) This is some wonderful music, (favorite song: All My People Go) and I am excited to see more from Orlowski and Joslyn. They are certainly off to a great start.

If you have ever wanted an autumn soundtrack for Seattle, this is it! Beautiful string arrangements with flawless, heart wrenching vocals... I don't know why you haven't already gifted a copy to all your aunts and uncles. Keep your eyes and ears open for Andrew Joslyn and Kris Orlowski. This will not be the last time you hear these names!

Seriously. These two guys know what they're doing and it shows. The songwriting and string arrangements are so solid. A wonderful soundtrack for Fall 2012. These independent Seattle musicians are legit.

I've been a fan of kris' for over 20 years. Ie: before he got famous. His music is soulful, thought provoking and inspiring. This album does not disappoint!
  • 17-piece orchestra + vocals & a conductor = amazing

What we know is Seattle has great independent music. What people are just beginning to appreciate however, is how MUCH great music truly exists here. Kris Orlowski and his friend Andrew Joslyn are perfect examples of the depth of talent this city has to offer. Kris, an extremely talented singer/songwriter and Andrew, a accomplished composer/violinist make a dynamically unique combination. Overlaying baritone vocals across a 17-piece orchestra, the duo have managed to execute a vision that most in this industry have been unable to do! Not only did they single-handedly create an amazingly beautiful 5-song EP, landed themselves an in-studio on KEXP, but they sold out 2-back to back shows on their local release date, and have booked shows in SF, LA and NYC. Diligent workers, tenacious businessmen yet gently harnessed and impressive musicians, these two are going far. Support your local musicians! And if you aren't local: take a listen and make the decision to support independent musicians. Encouraging work like this, is really the right thing to do!

Not a lot of music falls under the genre 'Folkestral'. When an album does, you should drop everything and buy it. Favorite song: I Will Go
