I love music and i especially love great music. This first album is great. Buy it and you will love your decision. Her second is a bit more studio, and this one is more pure and raw like the early Joss Stone stuff. Impressed still, and one of my favorite albums.

These are some good songs. The best ones are just all of the. This is some of her best work. Toby should win something for this!
  • Tiny Toby...Big Voice

I had the pleasure to see Toby open for Marc Broussard at the House of Blues in Cleveland. Wow! It was the first time I had heard her perform solo, I had heard her on Marc Broussard's albums as a backup singer. Never did I think such a strong soulful voice could come out of such a tiny petite person. She is amazing!
  • Excellent Musicianship

I first saw Toby as the opener at a Jewel/Rob Thomas concert and was very impressed with her. Powerful voice and a great songwriter. I was also impressed by her musicianship. If you are a guitar player, you can also appreciate her talent. The only reason I gave her 4 instead of 5 stars is that after a while her songs start sounding very similar. In fairness, I guess that could be said of a lot of artists. Nonetheless, this is a great album and would be a great addition to a collection. Especially, if you like the female singer/songwriter genre.

This is really a fantastic CD. It' rare to find a CD where you enjoy every song, but this is definitely that CD!

i had the opportunity to meet her and she is just as sweet as she looks. it seems impossible that such a big voice could come out of such a tiny person. she is worthy of more recognition, and she is extremeley talented, as this album shows.

I remember exactly where I was when I first heard Devils and Angels, it was one of those times. You know when you hear something that you want to play over and over and over again, I love those moments, and to my happy discovery I enjoyed every single song on the CD. I'm buying the next one too! Great voice, wonderful presence, beautiful passion, and superior talent!

Saw her open up for James Blunt in Atlanta. I was Blown Away by her set, and was then pleased to meet her at the Merch Booth. I think she deserves more success than any of the current top 40 females, but that will surely take away her accessibility. Blessing and a curse I guess. This album Rocks! When I bought my wife the James Blunt CD, I was taken back to my hippie days every time we'd listen. This soon led to wishing I could find my old Fiona Apple, Suzanne Vega, and Sarah McLachlan CDs. My iPod is getting an overhaul and it starts with Toby Lightman. I recommend you do the same.

If only she could have had some raw, soulful production to match her raw, soulful voice. I feel she probably excels live and unplugged. In fact her acoustic tracks a very well done. Still there are some other tracks worth getting, my favorites are "Coming Back In" "Leave It inside" and "The River". I can see her potential. Hopefully her sophmore release will show some maturity.
