If you’re Christian or not, I HIGHLY recommend this album because it’s not wishy washy like a lot of Christian bands. Christian Unblack Metal is HIGHLY sought after if you’re looking to escape the Metalcore Christian Scene. Anyways THIS album is a 5 star album because it gives you an Emperor feel to it, I love this album with all I’ve got because if you’re an average metalhead or a Christian (like me) you can easily relax and unwind to this album.

It's important for me to note that I could care less what a band talks about. I appreciate lyrics but at the end of the day, it's about the music. When I look at an album by a Christian band, I often have to look at it with skepticism because while the reviews on iTunes tend to be overwhelmingly positive, sometimes the the music isn't all it could be and it seems that some people with give it five stars for no other reason than that they're a Christian black metal band. I had this same attitude with Antestor's previous album "The Forsaken" and I ended up being completely blown away. The catchy grim melodies and guitar harmonies were very enjoyable to me. Perhaps my expectations were too high and I hoped for too much from this album, but I found no memorable songs. It sounds like the melodic qualities have been replaced by a heavier, thrashier sound. I enjoy heavy music also, but that's not what I look for in melodic black metal bands. It's definitely no "The Forsaken", that's for sure.

I loved all their previous albums, but this is without a doubt the fastest, heaviest, and most intense black metal album they have ever released. You would think they would copy and paste other styles and themes from previous albums and create a somewhat rehash, but this isn't the case. Antestor once again redefines itself with a darker and faster taste. Where Return Of The Black Death was atmospheric and how The Forsaken was artistic, Omen is unmerciful and downright vicious. Breath of fresh air to the Jesus Christ metal scene. Even if you don't like Jesus, you should listen to this album because I guarantee you haven't heard an album of this class before.

This has been a long anticipated album since the release of: "The Forsaken". I heard that Antestor had broke up for a while; but I am so happy they are back in the saddle and making awesome music again. I can't wait to dig into the whole album.

I am not normally picky when it comes to my Black metal, I am Christian but I have no issue jamming to Dark Funeral or Dimmu Borgir every once in a while. But I gotta say, this sonic powerhouse of sorrow infused black metal is a breath of fresh air in the unblack metal genre. This is up to par with the secular black metal bands out there in terms of production, passion, and sound. The only difference being, that this is infused with a meaningful message and is perfect for the avid christian black metal fan. Highly recommended especially if you are a fan of bands such as Horde, Drottnar, Frosthardr, and Crimson Moonlight.
