Mariza is amazing. I am a Portuguese American Teen, and I love her. You don't even have to be Portuguese to enjoy her beautiful music.

Mariza's music if by far the best i have ever heard. I was never interested in "fado" music until i heard her beautiful voice. Since then, never stopped listening. Being born American and raised in NJ. My parents were both born in Portugal, and my mom raised in Africa. As well as Mariza. Keep on Mariza, Keep on!!!

Mariza's voice is so exotic and beautiful! I've never heard anything like it (except Amelia's, of course). "Barco Negro" is absolutely beautiful.

Mariza's first album accentuates her unique style, superlative voice and fantastic control and really evokes the haunting qualities of the fado. Mariza is the new Amalia, an exemplar of the fado and witha voice that few people in any genre can match. This should be a cornerstone of any serious music collection. Do see her in concert if you can.

I was so confused when I heard Mariza voice, I thought I was still listening to Amalia Rodigues, wow, a new fresh voice, but with all the experience of the past artists, I am in love with this artist, being born in Portugal yet raised in the United States, I'm falling in love with this type of music. Amalia Rodrigues was the type of music my parents listened too, but I am falling in the same foot steps yet with a younger artist. Congratulations to the world, for having a brite and fresh artist!!!
