if am correct i believe some of the band mates in the early days were part of alan parsons projects, Ambrosia one of my favs. got to see them at a strawberry festival in So.Cal. a few years back, and i have a picture disk LP. of this album cover, remember them. David is among the best of singers and there is a song i listen to every day for insperation its called' Prove me Wrong' from his solo album.

I came across this group and album quite by accident and am so glad I did because it is just wonderful. I was looking for something kinda like Alan Parson Project and I think this album by Ambrosia fits in that catagory. I will be checking out their earlier albums also.

The reviewer mentioned a lack of a standout single, and I know there wasn't a hit, but listen to "How can you love me" and tell me that shouldn't have been a radio staple. It has great guitar work, incredible hooks, and a driving beat throughout. Not to mention some pretty heavy lyrics, so......I wonder why no airplay? Anyone? Well, thats my two cents, lovin Ambrosia!

I had a tape of Road Island in my 1967 Volvo that never left the deck back in 1984- it saw me through 40 below zero mornings, road trips around my hometown of Fairbanks, and my first girl. This album continues to impress my heart, mind, and soul, and I thank Ambrosia for this stellar effort. Too bad they were mostly known for melancholy tunes- this album rocks!
  • Mind-blowing musicianship

We just listened to this on a road trip recently and were once again astounded by the virtuosity of the players on this album. Such a huge departure from the fluffy radio singles from before. Not surprising that this album didn't sell well--it wasn't commercial enough, just an awesome piece of music. The searing arrangements and frenetic pacing isn't just impressive for the sake of difficulty, it's actually pleasing to hear. Fantastic listening! We laugh with amazement at "Kid No More," it starts out of the gate at a breakneck speed and just keeps delivering!! If only more artists would aspire to this level of musicianship, it would change everything.
