But it's definitely better than Death Proof! The song that I would have bought off of Death Proof was Fri-end, because it was a great mix of Kate Nash's old indie rock sound and her new punk sound. This is also a good mix of the two. I can't wait for Girl Talk!

With the new twist that she's shown us with "Death Proof", I was expecting more of the more intense, less-Kate garage rock style sound with 3AM. I was happily surprised by its tribute to her "Made of Bricks" years with its fun and upbeat sound coupled with intriguing lyrics. Well done, Ms. Nash, you've turned me back into a believer.

I think many were surprised with Kate Nash's recent releases of UnderEstimate the Girl and Death proof which have a very edgy-punk sound and attitude. I personally have some conflicted feelings about those songs (the monotone voice and growls that seem like shes hurting her voice), but I remained a fan of all things Kate. This new song goes back to the lighter pep sound that is like the older, more familiar, Kate Nash, but I believe it still has some of her new edgier attitude. Dont be surprised if the new album contains a lot of punk rock, but we now know she hasnt thrown out all her roots. I am very excited for the rest of the songs and am fascinated with Kate's progression of style. Four stars!
