There’s something lacking on this one for sure when compared to the other MF albums. It has a couple of bangers though and the whole thing isn’t what I’d call a disappointment.
  • Sounds like Mercyful Fate

Who wrote that itunes review? "the band just seemed tired"? Has that moron ever actually listened to Mercyful Fate? I don't understand why itunes would feel the need to post crap like that about a great album. They paid someone to limp their way through writing a review that sounds like a bitter teenager wrote. Ridiculous.

This was the first Mercyful Fate/King Diamond CD Iistened. It was the final element that made me who I am, a twisted, jovial wierdo who looks a bit like Abraham Lincoln.
  • Not too shabby

This album really kindled my interest in MF. My older brother listened to them some but I wasnt really into them. Hear a lot of early Metallica and Megadeth in their music. Diamonds voice would get on my nerves in large doses but overall I thought it was pretty good.
  • Michael Denner's final appearance

This is Denner's last album with MF, and he absolutely kills. For me, a great example of this is in Under the spell. Probably the most melodic, elastic solos you'll ever hear on a metal song, period. Overall, the musicianship heard on this album is excellent, and the production is good.
  • Tired and predictable......

With the absence of Michael Denner on guitar, this album sounds as if it was written more out of conveniece than talent.

This was THE comeback record for MF. This is the best MF record since In The Shadows. Maybe it's not the best Mercyful Fate/King Diamond album out there, but it's nowhere near as "bad" as the review says it is.
  • Dont understand...

Don't understand what the person who wrote the review was saying, but this is great album. Maybe not the best MF album, but it is really good....not a reason for bands to not reunite. The reviewer doesn't know what they are talking about. Uninvited Guest is a great song.
