A State of Trance 600 (Armin Van Buuren - Warm Up Sets) [Madrid, Mexico City, Beirut & Kuala Lumpur]

I must say that the usual mix album out there can be a bit hard with banging beats. That being said I was looking for a mix I could listen to while doing work or simply at home with my headphones. After much searching I came across this mix which really isn't much like the usual armin we know but in a good way. Away from his usual anthems and banging trance comes a mix with a great infusion of many subgenres yet in a calming pace to create an atmosphere of tranquility. There are 4 mixes set at Madrid, Mexico City, Beirut(my fav mix), and Kuala Lumpur. The Madrid mix starts off sounding like deep dish with a melodic feel, ending with an armin soft touch like say the "on the beach", most notable are 9-10. The Mexico mix starts off with a great emphasis on the beat, then slowly becoming more melodic, then back to the beat and ending with the ever amazing Balearic tune of white sand. Not really my fav mix yet most notables are 5, 6, and of course 11. The Beirut mix is the best one. Truly melodic throughout and even picking up in speed. Ending with the anthem of speed of sound by aly and fila. All the songs are amazing, yet last reflection by Aleksey Yakovlev really stood out for me. And finally the Kuala Lumpur mix. Echoing the melodic feel from Beirut, it starts off with such an amazing song light in a darkened world, truly chill and amazing! Then the mix gets a bit funky and more focused on the beats, tends to lose me. Not as melodic as I enjoy, yet still listenable. Most notable are 1-4. Overall I was pleased on purchasing this mix and can't wait for the next album due up soon. Not for the usual armin fan expecting upbeat trance yet for someone who enjoys a bit more chill with headphones being lost in the music, after all isn't that the point?
