This might be the/an original version but it’s not even close to being the version I heard everyday on 91X in 1983. I was a San Diego kid playing in my first bands and learned the drums by playing along to songs I loved, including this one. The radio version had very distinct production: the hi-hats and snare sounded more powerful, like a different kit altogether, and the keys were more new wave, less twinkly. I’m glad to have this version instead of no version though. Maybe this is all just what happens when you hear an old vinyl tune digitized for the first time...

It IS the original single version of "What Do All The People Know". I had it on vinyl (still do) and played it 1000 times. Not sure why it's reviewed here 'not as the original'.

This is not the original version of "What Do All The People Know?" single that was such a big 80s hit. However, this version is very, very good. The biggest difference from the original is that there isn't as much of a heavily produced, "wall of sound" as the original, but it's not a big issue. If you are looking for a high quality recording of this song, you won't be disappointed by the version here. I was very happy to find it, and I am also enjoying the other songs on the EP. It almost makes me feel seventeen years old again!
