Reviews

  • The Pinnacle of Marty’s Career

These albums have a lot of variety, and are a summation of everything that he has done to date. You can feel that Marty was really enjoying himself, and his playing is absolutely top-notch. Of all his other albums, I’ve enjoyed Loudspeaker and Inferno the most, but Tokyo Jukebox outshines them both. What really sets Marty apart from other guitarists that specialize in instrumental music is the emotion that he conveys with his playing, and it is unparalleled on these tracks. Since these are re-interpreted covers of classic Japanese hits, a lot of the tracks may not resonate with what fans are used to (especially Megadeth fans with tunnel vision), but you can just sense that this is what Marty enjoys playing. These melodies are truly ethereal. Do not hesitate to buy this if you like anything else he has done!
