Being that I grew up watching my older brother play the Final Fantasy series, it goes without saying I enjoy the games and music. I would have to say Final Fantasy IX is definitely my favorite. I always enjoyed the music and it brings me back memorable childhood memories. If you are a huge fanatic of Final Fantasy IX I doubt you will be disappointed having the opportunity to purchase this album along with the original IX OST. People who are not so much a fan may be a bit more skeptical about this album. But for me it's 5 out of 5!
  • It's okay...if you already have the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK.

Really, this is just a supplement to the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK. Almost all the tracks on here are from the FMVs in the game. Which, heck - they're not bad, but...they don't have a lot of substance to them, especially since most run just between 20 seconds to a minute and a half. Really, if you are only interested in the new songs not found on the original soundtrack but are not from the FMVs, just get songs 30 - 42. (personally, I bought the actual CD on ebay for my collection, but that's just me.) Still, they did a good job on the soundtrack. Kudos all the same.
  • Why rant about such a beautiful release?

So I'm reading down these reviews and right now it makes me sick! It takes a lot to put out all these songs from the copyrights and such. This is a great release, now every single type of song from the game is now in soundtrack form and this just makes it awesome. Sure they're a bit short but these are like the originals. It sounds great and they are fun to listen to. I wish more companies would release soundtracks like Nobuo tries to do. 5/5 AWESOME MUSIC!

The tracks on this CD are lovely, despite their short length. Anyone who loves Final Fantasy (specifically IX) or Nobuo Uematsu would love this OST. However, it's not for everyone. I gave it four stars based off my own enjoyment. But, if you're looking for the major themes and music pieces from FFIX, buy the IX OST, not this. However, the CD is only $10, a more than fair price for the rarity of the OST and the amount of tracks you receive.
  • Makes you want to cry!!

I downloaded only one song on this soundtrack- The Song Of Zidane and Dagger. It is so short, but so happy and sad at the same time, it makes you want to cry! WORTH EVERY CENT!!

I would recommend this album to a music theory student who happens to collect Uematsu's works. Otherwise, unless you just go gaga for anything and everything Final Fantasy IX or FF-related, don't get this. I bought it thinking, "Okay, FFIX, best game ever. FFIX OST+ looks like a huge bargain, these remixes can't be found anywhere else, and I still get the whole soundtrack." Erp, nope. Let me set the record straight: YOU DO NO GET THE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK PLUS EXTRA TRACKS. These are ALL merely supplemental to the OST and it should be known that most of these tracks are seemingly incomplete cutscene songs that /actually/ last as long as they say. Also, the remixes are vaguely entertaining, but for the most part experimental. They get re.pet.it.ive. from the first listen. So don't make my mistake, because those other reviews didn't fully prepapre me for the purchase I thought I was making.
  • Good music,,,Thank You Itunes! ^_^

FF9 is my favorite game! It deserves more credit then a lot of people give it. But FF7 isn't bad, nor is FF10.
  • It's nice to complete the collection

Yes, the songs are short, and yes they are cues from the FMVs of the game, but I find each short song just as enjoyable as any of the OST. Releasing such a collection really shouldn't have been necessary, but with the extra mixes (Kuja's Millennium Version) (Melodies of Life, Silent Mix), and the rest of the music, I thought it was well worth paying $9.99 for. If you love Uematsu's work, and you own IX's OST, your collection isn't complete without this.
  • Between Brilliant and Terrible...no joke...really...that's it...done.

When I first saw this, I thought to myself, "42 songs for only $9.99! It's too good to be true!". But then I listend to it and I realized why; all of these songs were just used for the scenes for the game, like entrances and such. Most of these songs don't even have a title, and "Melodies of Life" is unvocalized. The only reason I gave it a "4 stars" is because I am a big fan of Uematsu-sama. I just can't believe something like this came out; it's like sound-effects.
