The music has the feel and sound of early 80s soft rock; worse yet, the singing is pitchy, and the lyrics -- the music, really -- feels forced and perfunctory. I am very confused by "Making Promises," which has the lovely harmony one would expect from the duo, but is mixed with instrumental that can only be described as "Beach Boys meets Cajun." Similarly, I keep expecting Jimmy Buffett to jump out in "We Get to Feel it All." "Share the Moon" and "John" -- while having delightful lyrics -- both suffer from a percussion track that sound as if they originate from that Sanyo keyboard you got as a kid. Finally, if the intro to Yoke sounds familiar, tune in to Macklemore's "BomBom (feat. The Teaching)" at 2:00 minutes. Same chord progressions. Not impressed.
