I have most of the Thunderbirds music. But, this is the first since Jimmy Vaughn left, that I have fully enjoyed. It is, almost, like a step back in time. I still miss Jimmy, but this comes close for me. Listen, and enjoy!

I just saw The Fabulous Thunderbirds live at the Ruidoso, NM Blues Festival. They put on an excellent concert. Very enjoyable. I purchased Painted On after the concert. Excellent songs - great band.

The Thunderbirds losing Jimmie Vaughan was almost as disastrous as NRBQ losing Al Anderson, but God bless 'em, the Fabulous Thunderbirds keep on going. Kim Wilson's voice holds this group together and gives this group its identity, but without Vaughan's ripping guitar work they just weren't the same. However, the addition of new guitarist Nick Curran gives this group back its 80s swagger. They never left, but in a sense now they are back. This is smokin' hot!
