I have not grown tired of this album and it is closing in on a decade of playing time. Every person I have introduced to this album has enjoyed it. Very simple and enjoyable for long summer nights or just to drift you off to sleep. I would recommend this album to anyone.

I don't think the title of this review is hyperbolic. This album is probably second on my list of greatest albums, and first on my list of favorites (think about it, it'll make sense). Jeff Buckley's "Grace" is superior, but it is more artistic, whereas "Phantom Moon" is more enjoyable. The lyrics to "The Winds That Blow" bring tears to my eyes every time I hear it, and I estimate I've listened to this album between 1,200 and 1,500 times since I bought it in February 2001. I love Duncan Sheik's music, but for the most part it is just very good. This album is transcendent, and the reason is that Steven Sater wrote the lyrics. There is a poetry here that I've never heard on any another record. The album was created as an homage to Nick Drake, but I just don't think there is any comparison. "Phantom Moon" perfects that of which Nick Drake only dreamed.

Duncan Sheik is a genius of instrumental and has an amazing voice. This is definitely a relaxing group of songs for any time of day, and it is true...his music really takes you far away in your mind.

i could listen to this all day long. this is pure top-notch talent--one of those timeless albums in which the music matches your mood no matter what it is. great sit-back-and-relax music! ((great because it is not too sleepy but not too busy/noisy -->just right in every way!!!))

A great, great album that is beautiful, mellow, and relaxing. This is one I can listen to over and over again and have done so many, many times with many more times to come. I like listening to this one while driving since it is quiet and relaxing. In fact this is the best driving album I own. It makes sixty minutes of driving seem like virtually nothing when usually it feels like about a decade. In retrospect it is amazing how playing this album improves the driving experience, especially if you have to drive a lot. I listened to it for a couple weeks straight while driving and on any long trips it finds it's way in to the speakers to pass a few hours away. Absolutely incredible. Try it and see how much it relaxes you while driving. It feels like you are encased in a protective bubble and floating on air! God bless Duncan and I hope his next album will be as good or better as his first three!

Don't get me wrong, all of his work is amazing and invites you to learn the lyrics and sing along. but this album I think I have listened to more than any other. Sheik is a great song writer and I love the intensity and grandeur of the music. He is telling a story in every song and it allows your mind to wander into a fluffy and comfortable world of relaxation and thought. Beautiful music, marvelous lyrics, and a unique voice. Nick would be proud.
