One Tin Soldier (Legend of Billy Jack) - Single

This is the original version of the song (by The Original Caste, a Canadian group), released as a single in 1969. It's not the version used in the movie - that one was recorded later (1971) by Jinx Dawson of Coven (Coven as a band recorded a third version later - there were arguments over royalties, and maybe that's why those versions aren't available). Blame the record company for using Billy Jack on the cover of this song, which was not the version in the movie. I prefer this one, the way I originally heard it, but If you first heard the song in the movie, you might prefer that one. There's even another version around - a re-recording by The Original Caste, which is not as good.

I was sad that the Coven version wasn’t available. This is a distant second place.

Coven did the movie version. Have 45 from 70s, would be nice to have digital copy.

Funny how this movie affected the rest of my entire life although this version had the entire prefix missing which was a bummer for me!
