  • TO THE IGNORANT ONES

Sorry to dissappoint your ignorant ones, but this is classic Armenian music . I understand that you might have been looking for some rock band or something else, but try to respect other peoples culture and heritage. This is the major problem in todays world, people are blind and ignorant.
  • Ignorance freely abounds here...& not in the album...

Right now anyone looking at these reviews should just scroll down and read the review "Thank you for clarifying" by Hye Girl. She says it all. You go girl! As far as the album itself, I find it completely refreshing when iTunes includes something a little offbeat and representative of something other than mainstream pop culture. Anyone who is "shocked or disappointed" by finding it alongside the "real Oasis" just isn't as progressive as they may think they are. Global music, and that from other time periods, rocks just as hard as current stuff, if not often better! Open your mind, take a trip, read a book or something! Then you can at least appreciate things that are different from you, even if not your taste.
  • This is not Oasis the Brit band.

This is clearly in the wrong place. Noel and Liam would have nothing to do with this stuff.

Yes, folks, itunes did screw up on this one and accidentally file it under the rock band Oasis, while this is actually the entirely different "Oasis Middle Eastern Ensemble" (for those who know about this type of music its John Bilezikjian and i think his brother). However that's no excuse for the highly offensive comments many have made (relating to bombs, Osama, etc.)...especially since this band are not even Arabs but rather Armenian-Americans, who are not only Christians but have suffered centuries of persecution for being a Christian minority in the Middle East. (unfortunately since the info is wrong and the cd has a picture of a palm tree noone would know that.) This is a collection of mostly Armenian folkdance songs which are popular in the Armenian American community. As such i only gave it two stars because frankly theres better albums of this stuff out there, although this album is allright and i downloaded some of the songs anyways. For the reviewer who likened this music to hashish etc...bro this is like folkdance music that sounds like it was recorded live at my church's annual picnic. If you want real "hashish" music look up Richard Hagopian especially any album with the word "Kef" in the title. He plays Turkish "belly dance" music as well as the Armenian folk songs. I suggest to the iTunes people that in addition to changing this album from being filed under the other Oasis, that they also delete some of the previous reviews for being "construed as hateful especially in regard to race." A Proud 3rd generation Armenian-American

Some of the comments that have been written about this are very ignorant. This is not indian music, nor is it arabic. While some have called it worldless and even made derogatory remarks about it being garbage arabic music that no one in Saudi Arabia would even listen to. One moron went so far as to say he doesnt understand this ajdafkjlsafajl karooo bomb us! I would like to point out, that thse songs are ARMENIAN, some of the songs are over a thousand years old, and continue to be sung by Armenian artists. next, the languae which many of you have made remarks about is about 3000 years old, still in use today, and its Indo-European (thats right latin comes from this source too, but Armenian is older). I understand that people are frustrated when they search oasis and this comes up. I also understand that most people in America are uncultured swines that dont know anything about other cultures. with that said. This CD is amazing.

This release from Englands rock band OASIS varies quite a bit from earlier work featuring hits as WonderWall and F***ing in the Bushes. My favorites include the witty Garekina-Sam Yoti Sah and the upbeat yet feisty Sepastia Bar and also the James Taylor inspired Catskill Road, Liam is so sensative on this track it makes me cry...

yes! this is a set recorded when noel was obviously quite young, on a trip to marakesh i think, where... whaa i think it's another troupe of rock n rollers from the mid east, even before they rocked the casbah. good times!
