With the recent release of Verbal Kent's sound of the weapon, I decided to do a little more research on Mello Music Group. Every single MC signed to this label is dope. Real rap at its finest. I expect nothing less than real rap from this album.

Back in 2012, Philadelphia MMG Rep. Anwar “Has-Lo” _______, introduced me to a guy he knew in North Carolina who had an album appropriately titled “Ditch Effort.” I didn’t sign him but did do a press release just to praise the record. A year later in 2013 I was putting out a solo album both produced by and featuring CASTLE titled “Gasface.” The album was dense and heavy with wordplay, allusions, and sharp wit. A few deep heads in the game picked up on the record and by the end of the year it had been named to HipHopDX’ Most Slept on List, as well as influential writer (Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, LA Weekly) Jeff Weiss’ “Most Overlooked Albums of 2013” list. Like most things in life, we realized people just need reminding, this is a reminder of what lies beneath the surface: “Return of the Gasface (The Has-Lo Passages)."
