I've been trying to track this down for years. Itunes pulled a rabbit out of a hat with this one. I collect old school and this album is like topshelf liqour. Mantronix and Just Ice one the best pair-ups in hip hop history.

This is one of the best hip-hop albums of all time, Just-Ice with Mantronik, amazing. The only flaw is LATOYA and PUT THE RECORD BACK ON are the short-edited versions, not the 12" versions. I never understood why the label refused to put the longer unedited versions on the album/cd. But since those versions are almost impossible to find unless you have the actual vinyl (thank goodness I do), this is a definite buy.
  • Among the all time classic hip hop albums!

As soon as I saw this on I-Tunes I had to cop it. I still have this on cassette tape and remember wearing it out back in the day when my car had woofers and a fat amp! Now since I don't have a cassette player anymore I'm glad I have the digital version. The sound was unlike no other at the time and the Mantronik sound created classics! For anyone working on a hip hop collection this is a must. Cold Gettin' Dumb is the BEAT (using 1986 terminology). Just Ice was spitting rhymes non-stop -- just listen to the whole album...especially Turbo Charged.
  • Classic! Classic! Classic!

As the main review mentioned, this album was ahead of its time. "Cold Gettin' Dumb" with its stutter step beat and machine gun drum rolls sounded like nothing else out at the time and still holds up to this day. Mantronik was definitely ahead of his time. The low end of "Love Story", the minimal beat boxing and drums on "Latoya" and "Gangster of Hip Hop", and the break beats on "Back to the Old School" all work. He worked the old classic Roland drum machines to the max! And Just-Ice's delivery was the perfect compliment to the beats (kind of the way Mantronik used MC Tee's raps as another instrument in his sound collage). This is a must-have purchase for those who remember this album and a must-have for those who weren't born at the time so that they can know a piece of hip-hop history! (PS - as a bonus, iTunes has thrown in "Cold Gettin' Dumb II" and "That Girl is a S**t"

Just-Ice’s genius first album from 1986 is FINALLY available digitally! See from whom Mannie Fresh stole all of his moves! Kurtis Mantronik’s beats are as ahead-of-their-time as the day he made ’em! GO GET IT! Peace.

I've collected Real Old School Hip Hop since 1981. There isn't much out there that I do not have or don't remember. I haven't heard this record since I was a freshman in high school. I've looked for this record for approximately 18 years now. I'm glad someone finally put it out on iTunes. Thank you. Just-Ice "Turbo Charged" is one of my favorite songs.

It's about time! Finally we can find some real, old-school classics here on itunes! By the way, the artist's name is Just Ice,,, not "Justice". This album is the absolute best of all his works. If you are looking for real classic 80's hip-hop, this is it! We need to see more like this available from itunes, artists like NEWCLEUS, FAT BOYS, TREACHEROUS THREE, KOOL MOE DEE, G.L.O.B.E. & WHIZ KID, SCHOOLY D AND MORE! Keep 'm' coming itunes!
