Nearly ten years later and Oxygen: Inhale is still a huge disappointment. Somehow Trevor McNevan confused TFK with FM Static, because the majority of O:I is soft alternative in the vein of FM Static, barely any muscle to be found. This wouldn’t have been a problem if the softies were actually good, but they’re not; they’re very dull and very weak. And even the harder stuff is spotty; Like a Machine is cringy, and Give It to Me is such a blatant rip-off of Metallica’s classic Sad but True that I don’t know how a lawsuit didn’t ensue. Not all is devoid of goodness, however: Untraveled Road and Born This Way are really good, with the latter being an excellent imitation of an AC/DC-Guns’N’Roses sound, the former being one of their very best songs. I See Red and Light Up are the best of the ballads. The title track would’ve almost been good had it not been for the awful chorus. On the whole, O:I is TFK’s worst album, tepid and inconsistent, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking into the band.

That mixed it up on this go around and I like fact it's little different then some of there other stuff. All and all it's great the whole way through the album.

While this music is decent, it is not worthy of carrying the TFK name. I appreciate them trying something different, but this just didn't turn out very well. I have high hopes for Exhale because this album was a disaster.
  • Unexpected, but still great!

I think that this album really deserves 4.5 stars, but it's not possible to do half stars. Anyway, I wasn't expecting a slower album like this, but it's still a great album and I think everyone should at least try it out. For those who don't know, this album is supposed to be the lighter side of Oxygen. The new album that comes out soon (Exhale) is meant to be the heavier side. It's kinda like a two part project.

You guys followed up “The End is Where We Begin” with this? Hopefully 2016 brings a new album. Not the TFK I know…maybe three good songs on Oxygen. I will always support TFK though!
