Great release from Ace. I don't really understand anyone surprised by his vocals, this is how he has always sounded. He is a true original with a unique sound on both guitar and vocals. So happy to see Ace stay true to himself and release his kind of album. If you didn't like Ace before you probably won't like him know. If you loved the old stuff then this is for you.

This album shows a guitar god at the top of his game, Ace really delivers. He doesn't write deep lyrics, he writes lyrics that fit and then surrounds them with his signature guitar stylings and it's worked well for him. A lot of great cuts here but my favorite is probably "Inside the Vortex" which would have worked well for Black Sabbath (has that kind of vibe). I will admit I'm not overly fond of his version of Steve Miller's "The Joker" but, hey, the rest of the record more than makes up for that. Good stuff Ace! Stay healthy, keep rockin'!
  • Well worth the wait!!!

For all the people hating on this album, yes, you are entitled to your opinion and that is completely valid, but, your criticisms are all missing the point! This is supposed to be/feel like 70's record. Ace isn't a singer, and that's always been part of the joy of his music. He just does it and lays down riffs like nobodies business. This album was well worth the wait and Ace knocked it out of the park. Cannot wait for the next one!!!

Wow. This is just terrible. The lyrics are agonizing. Great guitar sound but man....the rest is simply terrible. Sorry Ace.

Any musician worth his salt would be hard pressed to come up with a follow up as good, if not better than a release such as Ace Frehley's '78 solo album. And while it has still yet to happen, Ace never fails to disappoint with solid hard rock tunes, his classic lead playing and cool rock n roll singing. I must admit I enjoyed Anomaly over this release but that is not to say this time around he doesn't deliver the goods on more than one occasion. 'What Every Girl Wants' & 'Change' are some of the highlights of this album along with his charming version of Steve Miller's 'The Joker' but for my money, 'Inside the Vortex' is one of the coolest Ace tunes I've heard since his KISS days. Ace is back indeed...

Ace is back.. Better than other members efforts from KISS for sure. But Ace's co-written some rockin' tunes with others recently too. Look up " Rise Up (Back From The Grave)" on itunes. Gives you an idea what possible when he works with different talent. He just keeps pushin'.

Been rocking out to his 1978 solo record with KISS and was curious to hear his newer stuff. Wow! I'm fully impressed by this release. The riffs are typical Ace, which is so much of what the doctor ordered in the current rock music climate. Not a bad song on this release! The songs benefit from newer production techniques, so, as a result, it is a very loud rock record. Crystal clear sound and well thought out songwriting. I'll always love and respect his work with KISS, and this album certainly stands up next to any of those classic releases. Ace is back in a big way, and not a moment too late. The genre could a few more albums such as this one. So happy to see Ace prospering these days and still cranking out quality. Buy it. Listen to it. Love it.
