I have always been a Bangles fan. I have on a mini CD, The Real World, Mary Street and I'm in Line. This disc is from 1988. It's NOT a boot leg and has the cover of the EP. I bought it while in the states or over seas with the military in the late 1980's. Who's interested? The Bangles still rock. I'd love to see them in concert if at all posible..... Jeff in NY

An excellent collection of retro Southern California rock that is not influenced by record marketeers. The Sweetheart of the Sun albumn is also good in this respect. Recommended. Too bad they had to change their name to the Bangles - I love the name "The Bangs"!

Any Bangles fan will appreciate the chance to listen to these early cuts, many of them rare and/or live including the No magazine radio ad, and the theme song for a show on alternative rock. And, any album that contains “Out of Hand” is automatically awesome in my book; that fantastic little track somehow sounds simultaneously like a missing cut from the first album by The Mamas & The Papas and also uniquely, unequivocally Bangles. :-) I listen to lots of music. I spent at least 2 weeks on the Grateful Dead tour every summer for 10 years, have seen live multiple times everyone from Dylan to Tom Petty to Van Halen (DLR only, thank you!) to Blake Shelton to symphony orchestras to, of course, The Bangles (saw them years ago and also two nights in a row this past July.) IMO The Bangles are about the most underrated band I know, and the only one that KEEPS GETTING BETTER. As fun as thus album is, give a listen to their latest album with all new material, “Sweethearts of the Sun.” There is, to me at least, literally not a single bad track on it and most are just fantastic: impactful lyrics, gorgeous harmonies, eminently listenable over and over. Keep it up, ladies! Keep releasing music old, new or in between, as it’s all great and consistently better than anything else I can find.

My introduction to The Bangles was that 5-song cassette EP back in the mid-80s, when a girl working at Sound Warehouse convinced me to give it a shot. One listen later and I was utterly hooked. Later releases omitted first one song (the CD3 release; anyone remember those?) then the iTunes version omitted another. Finally got them all back (right?) and many more early rarities. As others have said, these have a fun "hunger" to them; bubbly and fun. When the girls got more into ballads I was a little sad; always liked their more pop-infused songs, so I’m especially happy to find this spectacular collection.

My introduction to the Bangles was through their debut EP. GREAT to see those songs & MORE finally get re-released. Much of this has more of a frenetic energy & some garage rock 'beatlesqueness' (funny some cuts could fit right in with some present day indie bands). Favorite cuts: Real World, Mary Street, How is the Air Up There, I'm in Line.
