Shinyribs frontman Kevin Russell dances in his big suit like a highly-skilled dainty ballerina hippo who forgot to take ADHD meds. And that guitar solo? Man, it is tattooed on my aural canal for eternity. Meanwhile the Tijuana Train Wreck horn section bleats out at just the right times in the compositions… (I think one of those saxophones is actually a bong). And over here we see Mensa candidate Winfield athleticlly tickling the ivories in a sparkly disco shirt; The bass player Jeff sets records for chewing the biggest plug of tobacco while maintaining an intricate psychofunk walk line, perfectly syncopated with Keith’s tight/complex drum patterns on what may be the smallest trap kit ever seen. All in all, it is Shinyribs. Buy a T-shirt and CD from the merch guy on your way out.

Not very often an album sticks to me like this... As good as it gets in this world of music.

Okra Candy? More like EAR CANDY!!! Just like the first 2 Shinyribs albums, Okra Candy is psychedelic gulf coast country funk at it's finest. If you haven't heard Shinyribs you're missing out. And a live Shinyribs show is so amazing it's almost spiritual. Nobody grooves like Kevin "Shinyribs" Russell. BUY IT PEOPLE & EXPERIENCE PURE UNADULTERATED JOY!!!
